Hi! I’m Brooke, a Licensed Associate Counselor and play therapist at Children’s Trauma Healing Center. In all areas of my life, especially in the playroom, I hope to create space for people to feel safe to be completely themselves, allowing every complicated part to breathe. I specialize in supporting children and families as they navigate the impact of trauma, adversity, stress and what it means to be a human.
My approach to counseling is person-centered with relational-cultural grounding. I care about a person’s context and community, believing that healing does not happen in isolation. We are shaped by the people and places that hold us. I use an integrative, experiential framework to promote healing. Therapeutic work is rooted in relationship, collaboration, and affirmation.
With an extensive background in early childhood and elementary education, I am critically aware of the larger systems in which we’re surrounded. This leads me to taking a holistic perspective, focusing on the connection between mind, body, and environment. I am paying careful attention to a child’s internal and external world. Therefore, specific treatment is individualized and dynamic, honoring each person's unique energy, nervous system, and experiences.
When working with me, you will experience my nonjudgmental stance. I come to this work with humility and a sincere respect for the courage it takes to show up. I am committed to continuous learning, reflection, and growth, alongside you and your child. There is space for who we are now, the past versions of ourselves, and all that we are becoming.
I’m rooting for you.
